I have always been inspired and uplifted by Chinese Calligraphy; passion, nuance and Chi (energy).
When I first saw women and girls dancing in parks and shopping malls in Shanghai I was delighted with this fabulous community event.
It was the two ideas the dancing and Chinese calligraphy which is essentially ideograms that has inspired this series. Its a celebration of women dancing and it's loved by western audiences and chinese collectors;
truly a east-west, west-east moment.
Incidentally, my first Dancing Girls picture was in 1978 and in a private collection in Sydney, Australia.
